Southern Colorado Garage Door has launched an online garage door designer, a web-based tool that lets a homeowner visualize and configure a new garage door before a garage door installation. The Pueblo company, in business since 1994, describes the designer as a way for residents planning a new door to see how different styles, colors, and window layouts would look on their own home before any work is scheduled.
The tool runs in a web browser and walks through the main decisions that go into a new door. A homeowner selects a door style, chooses a panel design, picks a color or finish, and adds or removes window options, and the designer assembles those selections into a visual preview of the configured door. The result is a picture of one specific combination rather than a page of separate product photos, which the company says makes it easier to compare directions and settle on one.
Southern Colorado Garage Door framed the launch as a response to a familiar point of hesitation. A garage door often covers a large share of a home's street-facing exterior, and many homeowners find it hard to picture how a particular style or color will read once it is in place. Catalog images show a door on an unfamiliar house, and physical samples show only a small section at a time. The designer is meant to close that gap by letting a homeowner assemble a complete door and view it as a single configured unit before committing to a purchase.
"Most people only replace a garage door once or twice in the whole time they own a home, so they are making a decision they cannot easily picture," said Tom Godec, owner of Southern Colorado Garage Door. "We built the designer so a homeowner can put the door together the way they are thinking about it, in the colors and panel styles we actually install, and look at the whole thing before they decide. It takes some of the guesswork out of a choice that stays on the front of the house for years."
According to the company, the designer is intended to narrow choices rather than replace the in-person part of the process. A homeowner can work through several configurations at home, set aside the ones that do not fit, and reach the measurement and quote stage with a clear idea of the style, color, and window arrangement they prefer before scheduling a garage door installation . The company says that tends to shorten the back-and-forth that often precedes a garage door installation and leaves a homeowner more settled on the result.
The designer covers residential doors, the category where appearance carries the most weight. Southern Colorado Garage Door installs and services both residential and commercial doors and openers across the region, with work that ranges from new installations to spring, cable, roller, and opener repair. The company noted that the visual tool applies mainly to new-door decisions, where style and color are part of the choice, and not to repair calls.
The company said the garage door designer will remain available on its website alongside its existing product and service pages, and that the selections shown in the tool reflect the door styles and finishes it installs across the Pueblo region.
